Many thanks for arranging for 4 performers from the Workhouse Storytellers to come to our President's Lunch at Coxmoor Golf Club.

They were excellent in portraying the various parts of Workhouse characters and were enjoyed by all members.

Our programme was three stories, one singer Phil (who, as usual, was well received) and a linkage between the performers. In an open forum and out of character, we were asked some great questions at the end. We were made very welcome by the U3A and we have to say that the venue was just brilliant.

On the evaluation form they gave us Very Good through out, they had heard of us through word of mouth, and said they could not think of any improvements.

Not really, we enjoyed 5 storytellers for only £50, it was very good value for money, I was only sorry we didn’t have longer to explore the topic and chat

Final comments on the session?

Firstly, the format worked very well for our purposes and I know my members thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. However, when you ask for feedback and people say nothing it is not very helpful, so I thought I would offer something. If I was to make a suggestion, I would maybe think about the characters in a setting so that the narrator could bring them into dialogue in a more natural way rather than on/off screen, a bit like when a spotlight falls on them in a theatre and I loved the outfits, so maybe some props?
